Criminal Probes
Target
Abusive Nursing Homes
"Nursing homes accused of mistreating patients are
getting a rude new surprise: criminal prosecution
and fraud charges." The kinds of things that this article discusses are: o Vulnerable-adult abuse. o Alteration or destruction of patient medical records. o Fabrication of misleading or inaccurate patient medical records. o False statements or representations with respect to conditions or operations of a skilled-nursing facility. Nursing homes need to screen employees so that they can "recruit better qualified workers".
