To begin, one has the normal items like full name,
SSN, address, W-4 exemptions, salary or hourly base
pay rate, pay frequency, and marital status.
In addition, there is also the person's title, department,
badge number, and office address that can be entered, or
are retrieved from the Employee File. There
are then four other categories of information.
STATE WITHOLDING information varies from state to state,
and if there is a state income tax, the inputs on this
interface will facilitate the correct witholding for the
particular state.
PAYCHECK DEDUCTIONS is an interface that gathers the
Coverage, Contribution, or Deduction, for things such
as various Insurance coverage, an employee 401K, and Other categories.
There are also three user-definable
fields that allow for customized
deductions.
The TIME INPUT interface lets you enter the data for a new
payroll period or review the data from any prior payroll
period. Once the payroll period is defined,
the system then allows you to enter the Regular, Over,
Double, Vacation, Sick, and Timebank times.
The system then computes the total hours to be paid.
In addition, for each pay period, the system also provides
the facility to add Bonus and/or Commission amounts.
The fourth interface is the PAYCHECK HISTORY SCREEN that,
for any prior pay period, lets you review the items in the
categories of Taxes, Regular Compensation, Deductions, and
Bonus and/or Commission compensation. You can
reprint prior check stubs (the check "Advice"), view prior
checks with their Advice attached, or print W-2 Forms for
that year.
